NOTICE TO CUSTOMER
D-TEMP thermal cutoffs are non-repairable item and that, in case of replacement, an equivalent thermal-link from the same manufacturer and having the same catalog number should be used, mounted in exactly the same way.
D&M always suggests and encourages customers to test samples of these devices to determine suitability within each application. Designer should understand that overtemperature protection can be affected by installation and/or improper thermal cutoff location.
Seller's and manufacturer's only obligation shall be to replace such quantity of the product proved to be defective. Neither seller nor manufacturer shall be liable for any injury, loss or damage, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of or the inability to use the product.
The thermal cutoff may fail to open under certain conditions. Damage to the case, damage to the epoxy seal, exposure of the epoxy seal to cleaning solvents, pellet shrinkage due to thermal aging, and conditions that produce a very low rate of temperature rise may cause the thermal cutoff to fail to open.
The reliability needed for the application must be determined by the user. A thermal cutoff may fail to open for one or more if the reasons set forth above. Therefore, the user must consider the occurrence of such conditions during the design process, including the use of redundant thermal cutoff of different ratings when personal injury or property damage could result.
